Obituary of Danon Lee Tremblay

January 12, 1958 - Chapleau, Sudbury District, Ontario

April 26, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

Danon (Dani) Tremblay of Calgary, Alberta, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at the age of 65 years.

Dani is survived by her former spouse Terry and had no children.  She was the only child of Gil and Pearl (deceased 2012) Tremblay of Chapleau Ontario, who loved and cherished her. 

As a young adult, Dani studied in Calgary and lived with her Aunt’s family; Grace  (deceased 2005) and cousins Eldon (deceased 1997), Derek (Ottawa) and Scott (Calgary). Dani thought of these cousins as her “little brothers”. She had an extended family of aunts, uncles, and grandparents of Ukrainian decent that call Alberta home. 

In 1987, Dani moved to Toronto for a career at Scotiabank. Dani lived with Terry and her beloved cat Smokey and a few close friends. She enjoyed sharing her love of books and her Ukrainian heritage with her Aunt Shirley  (deceased 2015) in Edmonton. She always exchanged Christmas gifts and birthday cards with her ‘little brothers’. Dani always wanted to return to Calgary and did so in September 2020 after retiring from Scotiabank. She shared an apartment with her long-time friend, Lawrence of Calgary.

Instead of flowers, please donate to the Cancer Society and the Arthritis Society. Also say a prayer in her name. She is now in everlasting love with the Lord Jesus.

A private family service will be held at 11:00 on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at the Queen’s Park Cemetery in Calgary, where she will be laid to rest next to her cousin Eldon. Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
