Obituary of Timothy Lawrence O'Hara

In loving memory of Timothy Lawrence O’Hara, who passed away at the age of 65 in Calgary, Alberta.

He was a loving father to one daughter, Kristen O’Hara, son to Ted O’Hara and Rita Holzer, stepson to Georgia O’Hara and Hans Holzer, brother to Terry O’Hara, and a husband of 27 years to Karen O’Hara. He was a beloved uncle to many nephews and nieces.

Some of his favourite pastimes included skiing in Whistler, travelling the world and being exposed to new cultures, learning languages (including Spanish and Hebrew), spending time on the golf course and perfecting his shot on the driving range.

Timothy was a man of faith. He enjoyed watching hockey and was a devoted fan of the Calgary Flames. He was also a dog lover and enjoyed spending time in the outdoors. Connecting with family and friends, walking the dog, and spending time in the sun were things in life that brought him joy.

In his professional life, he was a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and received a Master of Business Administration (MBA). He had spent many years working overseas in his early career, including Indonesia, Nicaragua, Honduras and Kuwait. He also spent some time working in Vancouver and Logan Lake, British Columbia. He was based out of Alberta, primarily Calgary, for the majority of his successful career. 

Timothy was a donor to the CPA Education Foundation and several other charities. Education was a passion of his and he was intent on growing knowledge in every area that he could. Life was an opportunity to learn and grow in every which way possible.

Timothy was predeceased by his siblings, Tom O’Hara and Sharon Ann Cassidy.

A Celebration of Timothy’s Life will be held at a later date in Logan Lake, British Columbia. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
