Obituary of Jeovonnie (Nonnie) Howes

Jeovonnie “Nonnie” Howes, beloved husband of Debbie Howes (nee Mayhew/LeBlanc) of Calgary, AB passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at the age of 81. Nonnie was surrounded with the love of family when his last breath released him on his journey to heaven.
Nonnie was born in Rocky Mountain House and moved to Calgary after his father returned from the war. Nonnie lived there until he was sixteen and then moved to the Dovercourt area to help his grandparents on their dairy farm. Nonnie met and married Linda Macdonald, shortly thereafter he bought a quarter section of land on the Arbutus Road to move his family onto.
Nonnie accomplished much throughout his life, besides raising six children he operated a dairy farm, beef farm and a sawmill. He was a farmer, a mentor, a devoted and loving husband and father. Everything a family and farm needed.
Nonnie will be most remembered for his kindness, strength, loving personality and great sense of humor. Nonnie and Debbie spent 36 years together; he is also survived by his five daughters and one son, Marion (Ray) Osborne, Donna (Quinn) Lecerf, Shelly Hendry, Darcy (Kerrie) Howes, Angie (Stuart) Guiboche, and Deanne (Allan)LeBlanc; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as one brother and four sisters, Alice (Walter), Lorn (Kathleen), Linda (Don), Caroline, Sharon (Ralph). He is predeceased by his sister Shirley (Don) Brooks and his brother Andy (Sandy) Howes.
Nonnie was a respectful wonderful man and will be greatly missed by all the lives he has touched. He has found peace with the lord in heaven.
Funeral Services will be held at Church of the Nazarene, (4803 - 50 Street, Caroline, AB) on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Caroline Cemetery. Reception to follow in the Church Hall at Church of the Nazarene. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
