Albertine Louise Ort of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at the age of 100.

Albertine was born in Madiun, Java, Indonesia on October 26, 1922. She then moved from Sorong, Dutch New Guinea to Tilburg, Holland in 1957. She immigrated to Edmonton, AB, Canada in 1966 from Oldenzaal, Holland. She moved to Calgary, AB, Canada in 1971.

Albertine was the beloved wife of Peit Ort whom she enjoyed travelling the world with. She was also the mother of four sons, Wally, Mike, Stephen, and Jack, and one daughter, Esther. She was also the grandmother of twelve grandchildren and great-grandmother of one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband Peit and her son Stephen. She is survived by her brother Walter Banke.

Albertine will be most remembered for her passion for life and her love for her family. Thank you to all who have supported Albertine and her family during this difficult time.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at McInnis & Holloway, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North, Calgary). A reception will follow at 3:00 p.m. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
