Obituary of Pamela and Norman Mellis

It is with much sadness that the family of Norman and Pamela Mellis share the passing of Norman, on March 31, 2023, at the age of 97, and Pamela, on May 4, 2023, at the age of 96.
Norman and Pamela both were born, grew up, met, and married in the Newcastle upon Tyne area, of Northeastern England. In 1967 with their three children, Alison, Andrew, and Richard, they embarked on Dad’s dream to immigrate to Canada. Dad pursued his career in engineering and Mum worked as a registered nurse. Mum was very proud of her nursing training at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital in London and would always take advantage of any opportunity to talk with enthusiasm about ‘Barts’.
After retirement, Mum and Dad enjoyed travelling and spent many happy winters in Arizona and British Columbia. Last year, July 17, 2022, we had the privilege of celebrating Mum and Dad’s 70th wedding anniversary with them.
They are fondly remembered and missed by their three children, Alison (Alan), Andrew (Cindy) and Richard (Nancy), seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their appreciation and gratitude to the staff of Sage Hill Retirement Residence for their patient and kind care of Mum and Dad, to Unit 58 at Rocky View Hospital for their excellent care of Dad, and finally to Dulcina Hospice for the professional and compassionate care during the last month of Mum’s life.
