Obituary of Luisa Autilia Ranieri

Luisa Ranieri (nee Auricchio) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023, at the age of 88 years.
Luisa was born in Terzigno, Napoli, Italy on June 12, 1934. She married Domenico Ranieri in October 1959 and welcomed two sons, Tommaso, born in 1960, and Francesco, born in 1967. Together as a family, they began a new life in Calgary, Alberta, in 1968.
Luisa loved to knit, made the most amazing bread, and tended a garden that provided beautiful fresh vegetables for many friends and family. Her grandchildren were the center of her universe, and she played an important role in caring for them; a role she cherished more than anything.
Her legacy will be one of Love. She will be remembered for her kindness, grace, and strength, and most of all, for her generosity towards those who she knew and loved.
Luisa is survived by her two sons Tommaso (Patrizia) and Francesco (Kaya); grandchildren, Benjamin and Evan of Vancouver, BC; and Isabella, Alex, and Claudia of Calgary, AB. Luisa is also survived by her sister Raffaela, sister Vittoria (Felice), and brother Angelo (Anna), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Luisa was predeceased by her husband Domenico.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Parish (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E., Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery Mausoleum.
