Keath Douglas of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023, at the age of 95 years.

 

Keath was born on January 24, 1928, to Robert and Elizabeth Douglas. He received his education in Vermillion, prior to becoming involved in the oil industry as a roughneck with General Petroleum. Keath was a pioneer oilman and worked in the early days in Leduc, AB. He later became a drilling superintendent with Pan Canadian Petroleum (formerly Canadian Pacific Oil and Gas) and remained in the oil industry until his retirement when he was 55. Keath had served as Sports Director for Rosemont Community Club where he also coached baseball and hockey, which were his favourite sports. Keath loved cross-stitching and woodworking, as well as spending time with his family. He married Olga Lengle on June 18, 1949, in Edmonton, and together raised four children.

 

Keath is survived by three sons and one daughter, Robert (Sandra) Douglas, Terry (Nancy) Douglas, Linda (Bob) Bergen, and Lloyd Douglas; eight grandchildren, Brandon, Erin, Chris, Allen, Keath, Terri-Lea, MacKenzie, and Alexis, as well as eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter-in-law Brenda Douglas in 2018, and two brothers and a sister, George, David, and Kay.
