Obituary of Dallas Carl Felix

December 4, 1964 – Edmonton, Alberta

May 6, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that I announce the peaceful passing of my cherished husband, Dallas C. Felix, on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the age of 58.

Dallas led a rich and innovative life, one filled with enthusiasm, kindness, humor, generosity, and curiosity. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile and laughter, and his compassionate spirit.

A steamfitter by trade, Dallas’ noteworthy accomplishment was to mentor apprentices in areas of safety, practicality, and development.  Dallas had a passion for entrepreneurship, innovation, and inspiration.  His entrepreneurship is reflected in various business adventures with his dad from surveying throughout western Canada to gold mining in the Yukon, and Marine design/construction.  The relationship with his father was one of adventure and led them to many new opportunities.

Dallas was born on December 4, 1964, in Edmonton, AB to Dallas H. and Mary Felix.  The family moved to Calgary in 1970. In 1991, Dallas met Michele, his best friend and fishing partner, they were married in 2002.  Together they surrounded themselves with the love of their nephews and nieces. Dallas always loved sharing guidance regarding life skills.  He held a special place in his heart for his many nieces and nephews and played an active role in their lives.

Dallas’s passion for outdoor activities included fishing, hunting, and family camping trips.  Summer vacations were designed to find the best fishing locations.  Dallas' simplest pleasures in life brought him the greatest joy, he loved family gatherings.  “Where there is family, there is love.”

Dallas is survived by his loving wife, Michele, his mother Mary; his sister Rhonda, and brothers Brent (Isabelle), and Derek (Michele). He is also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Anton and Lucy, brothers-in-law, Greg (Laurie), Doug (Janice), Patrick (Janelle); and sister-in-law Kristyn (Jason). He was predeceased by his father Dallas H., his sister Terri (Myles), brother-in-law Ross, and his niece Shawna.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
