Obituary of Catherine Mary Brennan-Acheson

August 24, 1945 – St. John’s, Newfoundland

May 6, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Catherine Mary Brennan-Acheson at age 77 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by her husband Robert Acheson (2018) and her sister Elizabeth (Brennan) Constantine (1993).  Leaving to mourn is her brother Michael Brennan (Denise) of Quispamsis, NB. Cathy will also be affectionately remembered and sadly missed by a large circle of family and friends in Alberta, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland.

Cathy had a passion for life and an infectious laugh. She was a huge fan of the Calgary Flames and Curling (particularly Jennifer Jones). She was an avid “contest gamer” and spent most of her adult life entering (and winning) contests. Over the years she won cash, trips, cars, and concerts valued at more than $1M. Her favourite passion, of course, was her dogs. Cathy was known to have multiple dogs at one time and fussed over them constantly. They brought her endless amounts of joy.

Cathy will probably be remembered most for her sense of humour and adventure.  Cathy ‘s laughter would light up a room.  She was always up for a prank and loved to pull off a good surprise. She enjoyed organizing parties and special events to make those around her feel loved. “Aunt” Cathy had a special place in her heart for her many great nephews and great nieces carving out time to spend with them and creating cherished memories.
