Obituary of Linda Meridel Fraser

May 20, 1942 – Vancouver, British Columbia

May 6, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

Linda Fraser (nee Dryer) was born on May 20, 1942, in Vancouver, BC, to Victor and Peggy Dryer and passed away on May 6, 2023, in Calgary, AB, at the age of 80.

She is survived by her beloved husband Bruce; children, Chris (Noelle), Derek (Laura) and Shelley; grandchildren, Lauren and Jaime and Andrew, Hannah, and Emily; her brother David (Diane) Dryer; and brother-in-law Laurie (Verna).

Linda graduated from the UBC nursing program in 1965, the same year she and Bruce were married. She then taught nursing at UBC and St Paul’s Hospital until 1971, when she and Bruce started their family.  Linda and family moved to Calgary in March of 1983, where she continued raising her family.  Once her kids were into their teens, she spent time working at Universal Engravers/Unicom Graphics, the family printing business and she even tried her hand at retail sales, for a short while with Talbots.  In retirement Linda spent winters in Phoenix, AZ, to escape the Calgary winters.

Linda had a passion for gardening, doing puzzles and spending time with family.  She also had a soft spot in her heart for animals, having many dogs and a few cats throughout the years.  Linda was a lifelong sports fan, starting with the Canucks and Lions in Vancouver, continuing with the Flames and Stampeders in Calgary, and expanding into NASCAR racing.

She will be most remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
