Burton Crossman

Obituary of Burton Douglass Crossman

August 28, 1941 – Coverdale, New Brunswick

May 9, 2023 – Calgary, Alberta

Burton Crossman, beloved husband of Geri Crossman (nee Mikkelson), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at the age of 81 years.

Besides his loving wife, Burton is survived and will be missed by his daughter Erin, sons Bradley (Angelique) of San Antonio, and Jordan, step-grandson Christophe, and grandson Weslan.

Burton is also survived by his three brothers: Ken (June), Charlie (Teddy), and Robert (Corinne), and sister Phyllis (Ulysses); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Burton was predeceased by his parents and older sister Dora.

Burt grew up in Moncton, NB. Career changes from advertising and promotion, shopping centre management and property management brought him to Winnipeg, Edmonton and finally Calgary where he realized a lifelong goal of owning his own business.

He met Geri as next-door neighbours in Winnipeg. They were married for 46 years and were blessed with two children. Holidays for Burt meant a trip to the ocean whether the west coast or home to the east coast. In retirement they shared the enjoyment of many cruises.

Burt will be remembered for his great sense of humour, his infectious laugh, his love of music and his handyman skills. He met increasingly challenging health issues with great stoicism.

At Burt’s request there will be no formal service. Family get-togethers will be held in Calgary and Moncton this summer.

If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choosing.
