Obituary of Courtney Aline Rehel-Lucas

August 31, 1994 - Gaspé, Québec   

May 9, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

It is with utter devastation and heartbreak, we announce the passing of our beloved Courtney on Wednesday, May 9, 2023, at the age of 28 years. She is loved and missed by her fiancé Nicholas, her mother Shirley, stepdad and hero Steve, father Jason, half sister Kailey, grandmother Sheila, stepsiblings, Janik, Alec, and Vicki, and godmother to Gigi.

As Courtney faced numerous health challenges in the last few years, she had her ‘Calgary Crew’ with her every step of the way. She did not go at this alone as she had the loving support of her best friend, confidant, and protector, her cousin Jordan; Aunt Penny and Uncle Nene; Melanie, Johny, and family; Megan, Neel, and family, as well as her cherished childhood friend Stephy.

She meant so much to all her aunts Carol, Mona, Lyn, and Leona; uncles Germain, Wayne, Jerry, and Barry; numerous cousins, her nieces, and extended family from Gaspé, QC to Calgary, AB.

She was predeceased by her brother Zachary, grandfather Claude, and grandparents Ralph and Doreen.

She was beautiful inside and out, full of life and love for all her family and anything four-legged and furry. She loved with all her heart, and we are stronger and better for having this chickadee in our lives.

Courtney was eagerly planning her upcoming wedding and future travel plans with Nick and was so proud of him and the strides he had made in his life. Her passing has left an unimaginable void in all our lives. Until we meet again my Baby Court.
