Condolences
I was so saddened to learn of Adele's passing. My heartfelt condolences to Meg and the Smolyk family.
I grew up in Red Deer and first met Adele while doing some of my practical training at the courthouse. She was glamorous, fun, and very kind to this young reporter. We shared some good times at conventions over the years, and I have particularly fond memories of the time she came up to Edmonton to go to the Dwight Yoakam concert with me. Adele was always quick to laugh and usually had a twinkle in her eye, and you couldn't help but smile when you were with her. She will be missed.
Our condolences to Megan and the entire Smolyk family. Adele was like an older sister, as my Mom used to babysit the Smolyk kids, and Grace and Beth returned the service years later.
I met Adele in 1975 at NAIT. We were all lost in space then and we gravitated together. We laughed and laughed and enjoyed the people around us, maybe too much so. Our friendship continued over the years of marriage and kids and a divorce or two. Life experiences, good and not so good. Each time we met we could pick up again with our conversations and comfort in knowing we were friends. Adele’s love of Megan was all encompassing. She was so very proud of her. Each conversation we had always talked about her daughter. Through thick and thin, she loved and loves her. I will miss your sexy voice and smile and laughter. I’ll see you when I see you!
To Adele’s family: I am very sorry to hear that a wonderful person is no longer with you. I only met Adele a couple of months ago, but the picture you have chosen really shows her bubbly personality and great spirit she showed all. I will remember her as a welcoming, friendly and fun-loving person who wanted to get more involved in her community. Adele was a good part of the Bonavista complex. My deepest sympathy to all of your family.
I’m so saddened and sorry to hear of this immense loss. Sending condolences to all Adele’s family & friends.
I had many conversations with Adele at the office and bumping into each other at jobs. I can hear Adele’s very distinct voice & laugh well, which will always make me smile. I will cherish the memory of getting our nails done together and having a laugh about the latest court reporting gossip. May your joyful presence make the Heavens smile, though you sure will be missed down here, Adele.
I didn't know Adele well, but remember her fondly... especially her smile. We worked together intermittently in Iqlaluit, and she visited me and met my new babies in Nova Scotia. Condolences to her family and friends. She was a wonderful woman.
