Obituary of Dale Brown

November 15, 1950 - Montreal, Quebec

May 12, 2023 - Kelowna, British Columbia

Dale Sandra Teresa Brown passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 12, 2023, at the age of 72 years.

Dale will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Tracy (Kirk) Hayter, and Mariah Brown (Mohammed Mutahar); and six grandchildren, Ethan, Karissa, Joshua, Deah, Omar, and Bayanne. Dale is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Diane (Ted) Welton; and brother and sister-in-law, Richard (Yvonne) Seguin. Dale was predeceased by her spouse Edward Brown, parents, Doris and Ewen Seguin; and sister Beverly Seguin.

Dale had an amazing active and fulfilling life. Dale dedicated her career as a Radiation Technician. She was a gentle soul and gave so much comfort to the patients she treated. She developed many lifelong friends (personally and professionally). Since retiring she has expanded her hobbies and lived an active life whether golfing, walking, playing pickleball, or doing Zumba (just to name a few). Dale was a social butterfly and developed many great friendships. She also enjoyed playing cards, binge watching shows, and connecting over meals.

Dale especially loved spending time with her family. Her family will miss traveling with her, the late-night calls, and her surprise drop-ins to say “Hi” and eventually stay for dinner. She always thought of her grandkids and would often have small treats or surprise gifts to share. She connected with her siblings as often as she could, while geographically separated, it was important for her to stay in touch.

Dale was thoughtful and compassionate. She often thought of others and went out of her way to make time, check in, or share a small gift. Dale was well loved and will be deeply missed.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street N, Calgary, AB T2E 2V6), on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Reception to follow at the home of daughter Tracy. Details to be provided at service. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Dale's service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
