Obituary of Ronald James Davis

Ronald James (Jim) Davis, 82, of Calgary, Alberta, passed away on May 15, 2023, at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary surrounded by the love of his family.

Jim was born in Knowlton, Quebec on May 29, 1940.  He attended high school at Waterloo High, in Waterloo, Quebec and worked as a talented craftsman with various companies until his retirement.  He was a man of many talents, a Jack-of-all-trades, had a great sense of humor and most of all, he was a kind and loving man who cared deeply about his family.  Jim retired in 2005, at which time he discovered cruising, and was able to go on numerous adventures around the world with his wife Helma.  He also enjoyed collecting and building LEGO and has hundreds of collectible sets that he’s accumulated over the years.

Jim is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helma, his three sons; Ron (partner - Tammy), Bill (spouse Kim) and Chris (spouse Heather), his grandchildren; Kirstin (spouse James), Tyler, Jake, Connor, Brooke and Emma, his great-granddaughter; Summer and his sister Marilyn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Doris & Murray Davis, and his beloved dogs; Sawchuk and Bailey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to any local animal program (AARCS, Humane Society, ARF)

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at the Foothills Medical Centre for their support and guidance through this difficult time.

Please join us for a Celebration of Life from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Eaglequest Golf Course (7 Douglas Wood Drive SE) as we gather for a memorial of Jim.  This will be an informal gathering; the intent is to come together to share stories and remember in love.  Please feel free to dress as you are, no need for formal attire.
