Obituary of Ron McCarthy
June 17, 1940 - Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan
May 19, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta
Ronald “Ron” McCarthy, beloved husband of Phrances McCarthy (nee Schultz), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023 at the age of 82 years.
Ron was born and raised in Moose Jaw, SK, on June 17, 1940 and married Phran in 1962. He moved to Calgary, AB, in 1967 with his wife, and two children (Michael and Rhonda) by his side. Here they set up home and added a third child, Patrick. Ron was a lifetime salesman finishing out his career as a realtor for Remax Central. He won awards for best salesman at both Electrolux, and Remax.
Ron was a handyman who enjoyed tinkering and helping his children with their houses, and cars. He was a great lover of dogs, caring for a long list of canine friends through the years, most recently predeceased by his beloved Abby, and now survived by little Pip.
Ron is survived by his wife Phran, his sons Michael (Lise), Patrick (Maki), and his daughter Rhonda; grandchildren Lauren (Kris), Paige (Doug), Jordan (Jenna), Jayson, Kiara, Lucy, Rose, and great-grandson, Wells. Ron is also survived by brothers Pat (Marie), and Joe (Wendy), sisters Betty Babych, and Helen Kot, and nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Our Family would like to thank the Bethany Riverview, and the staff of third floor south, Prairie Sky, for their outstanding care, and kindness shown to Ron.

Funeral Services will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (404 Northmount Pl NW, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Reception to follow in the Corpus Christi Catholic Church Hall. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and view here.
