Obituary of Georgina Louise Julia Ayoungman

I’kinapaaki - Gentle Woman
January 8, 1942 – May 20, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, sister-in-law, niece, aunt, grandma, great-grandma, and friend, Georgina Ayoungman, on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at the age of 81 years, at the Foothills Hospital, in Calgary, AB.

Georgina will be remembered for her sweet, remarkable kindness, loving and gentle nature. She was a good wife, a fulltime homemaker, a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who gave her immense love to all her family. She stood by her children and grandchildren through every significant moment, desiring nothing but the best for them; she was the family’s anchor keeping us rooted and united. Georgina attended and graduated from Crowfoot School; she completed the Early Childhood Education Certificate program offered by Lethbridge Community College at Old Sun, and a University of Calgary Education course. She sat on the Old Sun College post-secondary committee during 1991 - 2011. She was our family hairdresser. Georgina enjoyed attending the Calgary Stampede, powwows, cursillos, dances and bingo. She was a hockey fan, a rodeo and chuckwagon fan. Georgina was supportive to everyone she loved and happily attended their special occasions and milestones. Georgina was well known by everyone to be a Mini’poka, a cherished child of her parents, Vincent and Annie. One could say she was like a doll always very well dressed.
