Obituary of Lyndon Wayne Lindsay

September 1, 1955 - Kitchener, Ontario

May 22, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

Lyndon Lindsay of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023, at the age of 67 years. He moved to Calgary, AB, with his family in 1967.

Lyndon is lovingly remembered by his daughter Samantha; granddaughter Tasha; siblings, Cheryl (Dean), Ron (Marilyn), and Carol; nephew Brett (Heather); niece Nicole (Daniel); and close friends, David, Mike and Deb. He was welcomed home by father Robert, mother Dorothy, nephew Tyler, and friends, Dave and Jim.

Lyndon had an extraordinary mind for facts related to his favorite hockey team (Go Leafs Go!) and 'classic' spoof movies. His list of movie classics included Airplane!, Naked Gun, Hot Shots and Austin Powers. He absolutely loved to laugh and had some of the very best friends a person could have. He was an avid reader of thriller books (especially Harlen Coben and Karin Slaughter) and the world news. Later in life, he discovered a talent for drawing and took many classes to hone his skills. He volunteered with Chinook Learning Services, where he met and encouraged countless ESL students. He shared many inspiring stories of new immigrants who had overcome incredible hardships to come to Canada, and he would often express awe at their courage.

Lyndon experienced many obstacles in life, but he never lost his dry witty sense of humor. He absolutely loved hearing people's stories about their lives, loves, hopes, and dreams. A person never knew what kind of conversation you were going to have with him... a deep discussion of faith, world events, and advice or a lighthearted hilarious commentary on the latest ridiculous story he wanted to share.
