Condolences
I am shocked and heartbroken to hear about the passing of my very good friend Dave Jensen.
I met Dave over 40 years ago at the University of Calgary. He was part of group that called themselves “TEAM NURD” We shared common interests in sports, going on ski trips, playing tennis, and of course drinking in pubs and bars and meeting women. Dave had an all-or- nothing style to playing tennis, much like most things he did in life. Along with his booming voice, he had a booming serve, a booming forehand, and a booming backhand. The problem was that the ball quite often went way out of bounds. And one had to have quick hands to defend oneself against the off chance of getting picked off by an aberrant ball when he bullmoosed it right at you. So, it was pointless playing a real match against him. Instead, we opted to rally the ball back and forth and practice our serves.
I moved out to Vancouver about 30 years ago. But we kept in touch. I would see him whenever I visited Calgary. And we also called each other and messaged each other on facebook and messenger.
He often spoke fondly of his daughter Rowan who he visited every year in the UK. She was his pride and joy and the apple of his eye.
The last time I spoke with him in May, he talked about how much he was looking forward to retirement. He wanted to move out of Calgary and find a place somewhere in the interior of BC or Oliver. He wanted to purchase a new truck as a reward for retirement. And he wanted to spend more time with his daughter. Sadly, he didn’t make it.
Dave, I’m going to miss your humor, razor sharp wit and booming voice. The world is a little less sunny without you in it. I miss you buddy. Rest in peace.

I was shocked and sorry to hear of David's passing. I met him through both Stampede and Calgary Ski Cub on bus trips, as recently as the Jasper bus trip in March, enjoyed his company and skiing with him. Condolences to his family at this difficult time.

I hope it brings some comfort in knowing that we will all miss David's booming voice down the bus lanes & his roaring laughter that made us co-workers find him such a unique friend. Our deepest condolences to his family & friends.
My sincerest sympathies… I first met David when we were both students at the University of Lethbridge… he was like a “big brother” sent to get me on my feet. I will miss him a great deal. Grant Massie
To Dave's family. I just wanted to express my consolences to you. I hope you can find peace in this difficult time. Dave was adored and loved by so many. I worked many years with Dave at Local crew services. He was a mentor and some one to look up to. He always had your back and taught us that patience and kindness was always the best when working with public. We maintained contact after he stopped working and I wish I had spent more time with him. It was a honor and a privelage to know you Dave. Rest in peace. You will be missed my friend
