Obituary of Edith Foster

Edith Foster of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023 at the age of 91 years.
Edith was born in Liverpool, England on December 27, 1931. Edith was the proud daughter of Elizabeth & William McCudden. She moved to Calgary, Alberta, in 1957. Edith went to grade 8 level in school due to the breakout of World War 2 and shortly thereafter joined a printing company.
Edith married the love of her life Ronald Foster in 1955 and was blessed with 57 years of marriage. Edith was a stay-at-home Mum until her sons were in junior high then worked as a shift supervisor in women’s wear at Woolco in Westbrook Mall. Edith adored her family and was particularly proud of her five grandsons.
Edith enjoyed needle point, crochet, reading romance novels, bowling, and going on cruises with Ron and her sister (Edna) and brother-in-law (Harry) and sister-in-law Connie.
Edith will be most remembered for her infectious smile and her giggles.
Survived by two sons, Jeffrey (Maureen) and Paul (Shelagh) and five grandsons, Jason (Laura), Randy, David (Christina) Michael (Sarah) and Chris (Megan), as well as four great-grandchildren, and two on the way, all of Calgary. Edith is also survived by her niece Lyn Wood (Barry) and nephew Steve Foster (Mary), as well as nephews, Brian & Paul and nieces, Carol, and Barbara. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Ron, her cherished sister Edna, and brothers, Bill & Ron.
Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
