Obituary of Andre Erik Bultmann

January 23, 1961 – Berlin, Germany

Andre Erik Bultmann of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at the age of 62 years. Andre was born in Berlin, Germany on January 23, 1961 and immigrated to Canada with his family in May 1969.

He graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting. He was an entrepreneur, specializing in small business accounting and consulting; starting his own business, Bultmann Business Services, in 1986. This would later become Bultmann & Company - tradename of Brite Management & Consulting Ltd.

He is survived by his wife, Tracey, whom he married in June 1985; and by his son, Erik; his daughter, Nicole; his mother, Brigitte; and his brother and wife, Rene and Dana.

Andre loved (and hated) working with computers. His father, Horst, bought him a seven-thousand-dollar computer when he was a teenager, so he could help with the bookkeeping for their construction business. He later programmed his own accounting database, code-named BUZZ, and spent many hours tweaking its functionality.

Outside the office, he enjoyed movies, and TV series, such as Star Trek, The Big Bang Theory, M*A*S*H, and The West Wing. He also enjoyed taking his family on road-trips through the Rocky Mountains and had many favourite haunts. But in later years, his favourite get-away was cruising. He and Tracey went on many trips through their favourite cruise line, Royal Carribbean.

As a young man, Andre attended Calgary Community Church, where he met and married Tracey. He later joined Faith Vineyard Christian Fellowship and Vineyard Community Church. In the last year, he and his son were attending Foothills Alliance Church. His faith was always important, and he cherished all the relationships he built within these communities. His family wants to especially thank them for their continued prayers and support.

A memorial service will be held at Journey Church on Friday, June 9th at 2:00 p.m., with reception to follow. Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
