TED KELLY
The epitome of life and death
Would be the 5th of June,
To Nicole, this day a daughter born
Yet a father gone too soon.
We know not of the hour
& we know not the day,
Life is such a mystery
Indeed, it's come what may.
The circle of life is ever turning
& all things must come to pass,
So we live inside the memories
Cherish each & every last.
He left you with his legacy
so keep him close to you,
The man the myth the legand
Also known as Hugh.
Once a captain in the Navy
He served his country well,
& he loved his life with Eleanor
before he bid her fare thee well.
You could find him in his study
With all things that had him hooked,
Navy ships and railways
The likes of trains & gardening books.
Yes he loved his garden
Tending to his greens,
He was a master of the peonies
& of course those "Squeaky beans".
You could find himbuilding railroads
For his love of model trains,
But time spent with his grand kids
is when he felt his greatest gains.
An avid reader of the westerns
history & so much more,
& when he had a book in hand
It was likely Louis D L'amour.
Now you'll find him in the sunset
Or maybe when it rains,
Forever you will think of him
With every passing train.
It is with my heartfelt sympathy
I wanted just to say,
I'm saddened deeply by your loss
On such a special day.
Nicole,
my thoughts be with your family
I raise my glass to Hugh,
In honor of his passing
On the 5th of June.
Danielle and Nicole; It is difficult at any time to lose a parent. Have comfort in knowing your Dad is now resting with your Mom and the bond you have as a family.
Captain Peden lived a full and interesting life; shown in the many highlights of his career choices and from the travels to several provinces while raising a family.
I know your dad’s intellect and curiosity is shared among his children, seeing firsthand from my friendship with both Danielle and Nicole. I only met your parents a few times in Topsail and saw your Dad’s amazing train collection. I can only imagine how much it has grown. He did have many passions and obviously enjoyed the retirement in developing new interests.
Your dad will be forever in your hearts; celebrate his life and cherish the many memories. He left behind a legacy and the work of his passions now to be shared among the next generation of Peden’s.
My thoughts are with you and the extended family as you say ‘farewell’ to your Dad
My prayers and thoughts are with you Danielle and your family. I have great memories of meals at St. Laurent St and visits to Topsail.
