Obituary of Dan Hudson

April 20, 1961 - Rexton Kent County, New Brunswick 
June 4, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta 

Daniel (Dan) Hudson, beloved father and husband of Flavia Hudson (nee Victor) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at the age of 62 years.

Dan was born in Rexton Kent County, New Brunswick on April 20, 1961. He moved to Calgary, Alberta in 1980. Dan graduated from Bonar Law Memorial High School in New Brunswick. He began working immediately at Cascades when he moved to Calgary, where he was a devoted employee and served as a manager and operator for over 40 years. Dan accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of his children. 

Dan was an athlete who loved sports, cars and horses. He was a master barbecuer and took pride in fixing things himself. He was a hard-working man who never shied away from a challenge and could be counted on to help a friend or relative in need. He will be most remembered for his infectious smile, laugh, and kind, genuine nature. 

Besides his wife, Dan is survived by his daughter Melanie Hudson-Drake (nee Hudson) and his son Daniel Hudson. Both reside in Calgary. Dan is also survived by his sister, Debra Hudson, who resides in New Brunswick, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Daniel was predeceased by his mother, Emelie Marie Hudson (nee Babineau) and his father, Frederick James Hudson.  

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mr. Hudson’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service.
