William Becker, beloved husband of Brenda Becker, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at the age of 84 years.

 

William was born in Chelm, Poland on May 27, 1939. He graduated from SAIT with an Art degree. He was a trucker with Trans AX Trucking and enjoyed oil painting, as well as fishing and camping in BC and Alberta.

 

He was the beloved husband of Brenda, and the loving father of Chris, Curtis, and Shauna. He was the proud grandfather of Ella and Peyton Folco. He was survived by his sister Erika (Folmer) Madsen, and their children Lisa and Keith. He also survived by his late brother’s wife Helen Becker and their two children, Leighann and Laureen. William was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Wanda Becker; and his brothers, Gus and Rudy Becker; and sister Adele (Fred) Thurner.

 

William will be most remembered for his great storytelling and his art.

 

A Celebration of William’s Life will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Eastside, 5388 Memorial Drive NE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, June 30, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mr. Becker’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted. Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
