Obituary of Marjorie Joan Brooks

February 6, 1939 – Northolt, England

June 9, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

On Friday, June 9, 2023 at the age of 84, Marjorie went to meet her Saviour and to see what Steve’s been up to. Marj was born in Northolt, England in 1939. In July 1959 she married Stephen Henry Brooks and together they raised three children. Mom was a faithful congregant at Calgary Community Church. She loved to golf and garden, and she loved to create beautiful glass creations with Andrea.

Marj is survived by four sisters in England:  Daphne (Gareth), Ruth, Jenny (Conrad), and Eileen and two brothers in Canada, Bill (Jan) and Dave; her children: Phil (Tammy), Andrea (Ken), Jane (Pete); six grandchildren, Heather, Hilary, Joel (Laura), Megan (Joe), Rachel, and Matthew (Dakota); five great-grandchildren, Luca, Olivio, Liam, Emelia and Lily.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Friday, June 23, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Marjorie’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted. Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
