Obituary of Stephen Robert Westcott

Stephen “Steve” Westcott of Calgary, AB, passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the age of 74 years in his Calgary home.

Anyone who spoke with Steve would hear stories of growing up in Montreal, QC, where he was born on April 22, 1949. He travelled west to British Columbia, where he worked at Canadian National Railway making his love of trains grow. He would regale you with stories of growing up in Park Extension, and later stories while working for the railway in Boston Bar.

He was a man of knowledge, from family history to current and past world events.

Steve met his ex-wife Gail while living in BC, where they welcomed their only daughter Stephanie. They moved to Calgary, AB, in the late 1980s where he remained until his passing, working as a locksmith until retiring from ABOE Lockworks in 2014.

During his retirement he was a devoted gramps to Hannah, Susan, and Penny, loving everyday he could see them and watch them grow.

Steve is survived by his daughter Stephanie (Nick), granddaughters, Hannah, Susan, and Penny; his brother Ron (Norma), his sister Nancy (John) Rheaume, as well as numerous nephews and a niece.

Steve was predeceased by his father Hubert (1989), nephew Andrew (2004), and mother Marion (2023).
