Obituary of Melody Linda Williams

October 21, 1947 – Calgary, Alberta

June 11, 2023 - Okotoks, Alberta

Melody Linda Williams of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023, at the age of 75 years.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Melody Williams in Okotoks, Alberta at the Foothills Country Hospice, with a very short battle with cancer.

She was a great mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, and friend. 

Melody enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and her never ending love for her dogs (Toby & Raisin). Melody’s boundless enthusiasm for life, her unwavering friendship, and her selfless nature will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

As a young girl Melody was very musically inclined. She played the piano, piccolo and the flute. She also was a majorette in the Crowsnest Pass Marching Band.

Later in life she enjoyed camping with her husband Dave and two sons. Her love for life and adventure grew into international travel where she loved traveling with her sisters and brother. Her most cherished vacation was her trip to Africa in 2010 with her sister Margaret.

Melody’s departure leaves behind a profound sense of loss for her family and friends but she will remain in our hearts forever. Our memories of Melody will never be forgotten.

Melody is survived by her two sons David (Laura) and Cory, her grand children; Sabryna, Courtney, Paget, and Zachary, and great grand children, Tenleigh, and Callen.

Melody is also survived by her brother Byron Voyko, sisters Leslie Orleni (John) and Margaret Jones as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Melody was predeceased by her husband, David Williams Sr, her parents Frank and Veronica Edl and her brother Donald Edl.

Melody Williams, your infectious love for life, unwavering friendship, and selflessness will forever be etched in our hearts. May your soul find eternal peace, and may your memory serve as a reminder to us all, to embrace life with passion and kindness. Rest in peace, dear Melody.
