Obituary of Jeanie King

Jeanette “Jeanie” King of Calgary, AB passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at the age of 80 years.

Jeanie was born in Glasgow, Scotland, the second of three children of Solomon and Jeanie Turnbull. Jeanie lived in Glasgow until 1966 when her and Alan moved to Calgary. Alan’s job gave the two of them the opportunity to travel around Alberta and the surrounding provinces, as well as a short stint in Denver, Colorado, before settling down again in Calgary.

Jeanie was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will always be remembered by her loving family; children, Jim (Carla) and Alastair (Ginger); grandchildren, Anthony (Aimey), Alessa, Savannah, Joshua, and Hudson; and great-grandchildren, Avery and Ari; also, her big brother Jim, little sister Rosemary and nieces, Karen (Doug) and Kim.

Jeanie was predeceased by her loving husband Alan, parents Solomon and Jeanie and her sister-in-law Sheila.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, June 23, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
