Obituary of John Charles Wesch

John Charles Wesch of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at the age of 94 years.
In his early years in Prince Rupert, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. John graduated from UBC with a degree in Chemical Engineering in 1952.
John enjoyed working in Montreal, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Prince George and Calgary.
John married Dorothy Ann Flynn in 1985. He enjoyed travelling, birds, salmon fishing, fly fishing and hunting. A favourite place to go fishing was “Jakes Lake”.
There were many memorable vacations to Mexico, South America, Japan and Hong Kong, Singapore and the Philippine Islands, Europe, the South Pacific and Costa Rica.
John and Dot enjoyed many motorhome trips to the Queen Charlotte Islands and snowbird trips to the southern US, as well as rock hounding and lawn bowling in later years.
Besides John’s loving wife, Dot, he is also survived by three daughters, Kathryn (Norman) Walper of Prince George, Barbara Gogol and Caroline Long of Calgary; and one son, John (Wendy) Wesch of Houston, Texas; stepdaughters Michele Flynn of Calgary and Chris (Shawn) Lamble of Bahrain. John had six grandchildren, Alisha (Randy) Wilson, Sarah (Darrell) Doerksen, Brittany Gogol, Braydon Gogol, Chad (Hazelle) Long, Tyler Long and six great-grandchildren, Bryce and Bryden, Alivia and Ayla, Kinsley and Kaia.
John was predeceased by Rachel Wesch, parents Rose and Frederick Wesch, brothers Fred Wesch and Dick Wesch and sister Rosie Cameron.
As per John’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.
