Obituary of Trude Teppler

July 17, 1929 - Mönchengladbach, Germany

June 19, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

It is with deep sadness that the family of Trude Teppler announces her passing at home at the age of 93.  Trude was born in Mönchengladbach, Germany.  She immigrated to Canada in 1955 with her husband Peter and her two young boys, Peter Jr. and Wolfgang.  Sometime later a third son, Art, arrived to complete the family.  She was ever so proud of having raised three wonderful boys (her words!).  Trude was a devoted and supportive wife to her beloved husband Peter for over 73 years at the time of her passing.  Theirs was a long and lasting love.  They were truly a team every step of the way.

After her immediate family, Trude delighted in the accomplishments of her four grandchildren, Mathew, Ben, Jennifer, and Sarah.  The “icing on the cake” was watching, supporting, and spoiling nine great-grandchildren, Caiden, Kensington, Ellie, Georgia, Stella, Hux, Vos, Brooklyn, and William.  Any and every child was the benefactor of her unconditional love!

Family gatherings meant everything to Trude.  Her gracious hospitality, amazing cooking and tasty baking were the hallmark of every get together.  No one ever turned down an invitation to one of her feasts!

Trude will be lovingly remembered and grieved by her husband Peter, and her three sons, Peter (Leslie Rome), Wolfgang (Carol) and Art (Joy), grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Gerard's Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Dr. S.W., Calgary AB) on Friday, June 30, 2023, at 3:00 PM.  Fr. Greg Coupal will celebrate the mass.  Members of all faiths are most welcome.  Reception to follow immediately after the mass in the church hall.
