Obituary of George Cameron

 

March 20, 1942 - Portage La Prairie, Manitoba

June 22, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

 

It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Robert “George” Cameron, Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather, on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at the age of 81 years.

 

A life that touched others - For his memory will go on forever.

 

Besides his loving wife of 59 years Irene, George is survived by his children, Darcey, Candy, and Rory; five grandchildren, Joseph, Lauren, Vanessa, Michael and Kodi; and one great-granddaughter Auden. Along with his most loyal companion dog Teddy and sidekick Apollo, George was surrounded by his family during his final moments.

 

George is also survived by his sisters, Judy, Lynne (Dave) and Shelley, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. George was predeceased by his sisters, Marie and Lisa, and brother Jerry.

 

His many passions included cooking and entertaining with family and friends, horse racing, fishing and card playing that all fed his competitive spirit. His incredible wit shaped our family and will be echoed for generations to come. In the Construction industry his impeccable work ethic, intellectual skills were respected and revered by all who knew him.

 

Our family wishes to express our sincere gratitude to the EMT/Paramedics, Palliative Home Care Team and Dr. William Ressl.
