Obituary of Daniel Seman Oh

October 9, 1970 - June 23, 2023 

Daniel Oh of Calgary, Alberta, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 23, 2023 at the age of 52.

Daniel was born in Edmonton and attended Jasper Place High School before heading to Calgary seeking independence.  He tried many jobs and finally found a job at Costco where he felt he was part of the big Costco family.  He worked in many departments in Costco since 2012 and excelled as a front-end cashier.   In his spare time, he loved shopping, good food, trying out new restaurants, and loved Jamie’s cooking.   He was passionate about raising money for the Children Hospital and was always one of the top fund raisers in Beacon Hill store.  He recently came back from an amazing trip to Korea with Jamie where he met Jamie’s family and friends.

Daniel leaves behind his wife, the love of his life Dong Eun Lee “Jamie”;  his mother InJa;  his siblings Dr. Gregory Oh (Kay), Merion Malone (Clint) and Anna Becker (John); and his nephews and nieces, Joshua, Jessica, Jeremiah, and Joleen Oh, and Sam and Jake Malone.

Daniel will be most remembered for finding his true happiness, love, and a community.

His caring and thoughtfulness of others - “Do you need anything? Well, let me know if you need anything.”

Thank you to the Foothills Hospital ICU Unit A, for their compassionate care for Daniel.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB), on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. with a visitation starting 9:30 a.m.  Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.

A Funeral Service will be held, on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mr. Oh’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted.
