I was sorry to hear of Maureen's passing. The loss of the family's matriarch is the loss of the family's stronghold. Hold tight to your memories for they will bring you joy and comfort. Remember to laugh with the tears you shed for laughter will comfort you. Remember the hugs and the smells of Maureen for they will carry you through the tough times. Bring the family together, cook her favorite meal, and share her love for each of you.
My heart goes out to each and every one of you. May the Lord comfort you in this time of grieving and may Maureen be granted eternal peace.
Terry and family, you have my deepest sympathies. . .
It has been more than a few years since we worked together Terry and I first met Maureen; but I remember her quick smile and friendliness. I remember how proudly and with love you talked about your togetherness. You were one. I understand the losing of a signifiant part of yourself. Hold tight the beautiful memories, the amazing children and the legacy of love that she leaves you.

What do you say about the loss of someone in a family you looked up to and admired as parents ,colleagues and true life long friends. The world has lost one of the better individuals with the quick and sad passing of Maureen. There had to be some Maritime blood in the Haggarty’s as Maureen and Terry truly are the “ salt “ of the earth . Maureen was such a loving , giving and understanding parent , along with moulding and mentoring so many students over her career as a teacher , you just can’t replace that .
You will so be missed but never forgotten Maureen .
Terry , not only are you a great friend but I consider you my brother and I am feeling your pain , as words really don’t have a lot of meaning at this time .Lean on Ryan , Meghan , Colin and Michael as Maureen nurtured them to be strong and you will find some comfort in the close bond you all have .
I look forward to spending time with you in the very best future , and take comfort in the knowledge that Maureen will always be looking down and looking out for you and all her kids
Love always
Mike McFarland
Mrs. Haggarty taught me biology in high school at SMDP in Airdrie and I credit her for getting such good grades on my Grade 12 diploma, thanks for all the knowledge Maureen and for being a great teacher!
Maureen and Terry were a wonderful couple. Maureen is misssed and will be remembered.
My sincere condolences to Terry and the family.
I so enjoyed getting to know Maureen a bit when we were sharing stories of our mutual family. Her zest for life, and kind and generous nature will stay with me always. RIP Maureen. You will be missed.
Maureen's family is bereft at her sudden departing. On her final journey she leaves all of us behind and in shock. RIP Maureen.
Thank you for the video link. I smiled, I laughed. It truly celebrated her life.
It is sad to hear of the passing of Maureen. As one of the pioneers of Catholic education in Airdrie, her dedication to teaching at OLQP and St. Martin de Porres was greatly appreciated by students and staff. Maureen will always be remembered as an excellent educator, colleague and friend. Terry and family, the Kennedys (John, Susan, Jerry, James and Michael) are sorry and pray for your loss.
I have my Mom’s rosary and brown scapular. I am holding onto them and praying for Aunt Maureen, Ryan Meagan, Colin and Katherine , and Michael and his partner, the spit fire.
You are not alone. You are surrounded b and supported by a communion of Saints.
I love you all so very much and you have made it abundantly clear to all of us your deep love and commitment to each other.

Terry and family, I loved teaching with Maureen. When I was new to teaching high school she took me under her wing and mentored me in so many ways and on so many levels. I loved hearing about her trips, her love story with Terry and about all of her children’s accomplishments. I am grateful to have had a friend like Maureen. Please accept my sincere condolences.

Peace to you Uncle Terry,
Sincerest condolences to you and your children and my cousins, Ryan, Meghan, Colin (Katherine) and Michael.
Such a loss - but a life well lived and a woman, wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin who left her mark and was a key character in so many of our stories.
She’s at peace and at home in the arms of Jesus. She will want you to write the next few chapters of your story.
A piece of your heart left with Maureen - and she will keep watch and continue to care for you and love you.
You remain in our prayers- and just like you have been there for many in times of need, we are now here for you. Reach out, we are here to help.
God Bless,
Love,
Marion

Dear Terry and Family. We are so very sorry to hear of Maureen’s passing. Maureen taught most if not all of our children at OLQP or St. Martin de Porres. The one memory of Maureen that stands out most to me is I never ever saw her without a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eyes. She loved her teaching and her students and it was easy to see they loved her. Sending you all much love and prayers to help you through this difficult time. There is a poem that reminds me of Maureen and although I don’t know the author I’d like to share it with you here:
HE ONLY TAKES
THE BEST
God saw you getting tired, And a cure was not to be;
So he put his arms around you, And whispered, "Come to me"
With tearful eyes we watched you, And saw you pass away;
Although we loved you dearly, We could not make you stay A golden heart stopped beating
Hard working hands to rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.
Dear Terry and Family,
We are so shocked and saddened to hear of Maureen’s passing. Such a profound loss for your family and the community. We are deeply sorry and our hearts break for all of you. We are keeping you and your family in our prayers. Absent from the body, present with the Lord. One day you will meet again, however that does not diminish the searing pain you feel today. God bless you and comfort you today and always. Herry & Joy Soepono
My deepest sympathy to the whole family. I always had the greatest respect for Maureen, both as a colleague and an individual. She and Terry valued family so much!
