Obituary of Juhayneh Tamer Alein

We are sad to announce the passing away of Juhayneh Alein, on Saturday, July 15, 2023.

Juhayneh was born in Al Kaimeh, Homs, Syria on July 15, 1931, to parents Tamer and Skandra Saadedine and was raised with her two brothers. She is predeceased by her son Souheil (Mary) and survived by her children Mona (Joseph), Mounir (Leila), Ousyma (Tony), Nouhad (Michel), Nour, Wissam (Ghada); and twenty-one grandchildren with all their children.

While raising her family in Qatana Syria she moved to Calgary, Alberta, Canada, on September 19, 1978.  During her time in Calgary, she was thrilled to take part with her family’s thriving growth.

She will always be remembered as a resolute fighter while remaining kind and tender to those close to her. She will leave a painful hole in the hearts of all the lives that she touched.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church (404 Meredith Road N.E., Calgary, AB) on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at 1:00p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
