Condolences
Very sad to hear that Frank (Mr McGeachy to me) has passed but happy to hear what a wonderful life he had.
He was an inspirational teacher in Elmwood Convent School, Bothwell, Scotland early 70s.
I went on to study medicine and as an anaesthesiologist I needed a good grasp of physics. He had given us all a sound understanding of the subject. I have often thought about him over the years and delighted to hear about his fulfilling life. Elizabeth McGrady
I was just looking at a silly thing on Facebook asking who was the best teacher you ever had. I immediately thought of Mr McGeachy who was my brilliant Physics teacher at Elmwood Convent in Bothwell in the early 70’s. We were devastated when he left. Physics became my favourite subject and I went on to study medicine and worked as a doctor till I retired a few years ago. I have all my life felt grateful to him for inspiring me and giving me confidence in science. A wonderful teacher and a wonderful man all those years ago. So glad he went to have such a successful and happy life. I send my condolences to the family and all who love him.
So sorry to hear of MrMcGeachy's passing. I remember him from grade 10 Physics at HWW... where her sassily through books and binders out the 3rd floor window of kids that goofed around. It only happened once! Such a passionate teacher. thinking of you all.
Andrea, Class of 84

Emma and family, I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm sharing in your sadness and praying for you all during this difficult time.
Your dad will be missed by everyone that knew him. Sending you the strength and courage love and light.
My sincerest condolences to Frank’s family and friends. Frank had a profound influence of the life and career of my own father. They were good friends, sharing a love of physics and good scotch.
A physics eulogy once read, ‘there is no energy in the universe that is created, nor destroyed. All energy, every vibration, every joule of heat remains. The warmth that flowed through you is still here, still part of all that we are - even as we mourn. According to these laws, not one bit of you is gone; you’re just less orderly’
I hope these words bring some comfort during a difficult time.
Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this incredibly difficult time. Although I am physically distant in Switzerland, please know that my thoughts and prayers are with the family in Canada.
Losing a father and a husband is a profound loss. Frank was a remarkable individual, and his presence touched the lives of many. While I may not have had the privilege of spending as much time with him as I would have liked, I have witnessed the love and respect he garnered from all who knew him, with a constant touch of humour. His memory will forever live on in our hearts, and his legacy will continue to inspire us.
Goodbye my lovely brother fromGerrard in Ontario. I miss you already. We had many good times together growing up in Lanark Scotland with our Parents Patrick and Elizabeth, you’ll be beside them again looking down with love. I was so shocked when I hear you were gone. Sleep in peace my forever friend. Your brother Gerrard
Sending our love & deepest sympathies to Aunt Frances, Christopher, Megan, Emma, & Philip on the loss of our beloved Uncle Frank on behalf of his Ontario nephews Gerrard , Paul, Patrick, Kevin & our extended families.
We have fond memories of our soft spoken, intelligent & quick witted Uncle who you could count on for a thought provoking question or riddle usually designed for a laugh.
We also have early memories of the pet cocker spaniels Oscar & Tara, the townhouse down the road on our path to school & when our 1st cousin Christopher was born. We also credit Uncle Frank’s love of books & gifts that sparked some similar lifelong interests. Authors like Twain, Verne, Burroughs & Tolkien come to mind.
Although the move to Calgary took our lives down paths in different provinces, we were proud of the super smart Uncle we knew had become a popular teacher; we probably even bragged about it. We knew he had won awards, written textbooks & influenced curricula & remember a more recent visit back to Ontario leading a Robotics team. Even more recently, we’re glad Uncle Frank made the effort to visit our Dad here in Ontario; perhaps recognizing the gift that the present provides.
We hope our message compiled from our different memories provides some comfort in knowing that your husband & father was much loved by us. Although we were young children for most of our meaningful memories, we looked up to Uncle Frank & your loss is deeply felt by your extended Ontario family.
Sincerely,
Gerrard, Paul, Patrick, & Kevin
