Obituary of Elsie Gwendolen Berke

It is with great sadness that the family of Elsie Berke announces her passing on July 15, 2023, at the age of 95 years. Elsie resided in Calgary for several years living in the communities of Altadore, Lakeview, Sienna Park and most recently Lake Bonavista Village.  

Elsie is survived by her daughters; Debbie (Bob) Luft, Sandy Irvine, and Maureen Edgar (Alison Orr). She also leaves to mourn her passing her grandchildren; Kris (Britt) Jensen, Nick (Kierra) Irvine, Megan (Aaron) Archer, and four great-grandchildren; Bennett Irvine, Thomas Irvine, Ayla Archer, and Eleanor Irvine. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews on Glen’s side, a sister-in-law Ethel Davies and special nieces Norma Davies, Joyce (Gordon) Biccum and family and Herb’s daughter Loretta (George) McDonald.

Elsie was predeceased by her parents Daniel and Mary Davies, brothers Tom and John Davies and sisters Many Young and Evelyn Evans. She was also predeceased by her first husband Glen Edgar, second husband Herb Berke and great-granddaughter Evanna Irvine.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Friday July 21, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
