Dear Sandy and family,
Lori and I are sorry for your loss. I watched the service today and it was nice to see your beautiful family. May his memory always be a blessing.

I originally met Terry in Feb. 1992 as a result of a fellow financial advisor who suggested he seek my advice. From that first meeting I immediately appreciated Terry's quick wit and superior intellect. Thirty years later it is with great appreciation that I can share with his family and many friends a celebration of an extraordinary life.
I spent many pleasurable hours speaking in person and by telephone the multitude intricacies of financial decisions. I often felt that it was like working with a partner, bouncing ideas back and forth and then proceeding with the best choice available. Afterwards of course, we spent lots of time talking about the Riders!. When Terry and the family moved to Calgary, he embraced his new home completely by supporting the Stampeders and the Flames.
It was through Terry that I met many of his friends such as George Nystrom with whom I still share a friendship.
Terry also introduced me to what a real game of golf might look like when we ventured out to Kananaskis. I watched him hit long drives and score low rounds, while he humored me with my feeble efforts. I had a new appreciation of how golf could be played, and he had some comic relief. Another good partnership.
Today I wish Sandie, Kimberly and Garett and all the family my sincere condolences for the loss of a wonderful husband, father and an exceptional companion. Terry will always be remembered as an exceptional human being.
Kim and family we are truly sorry to hear of the loss of your dad and grandad. There are no words that can be said to ease the pain of the loss, as we know grief takes no short cuts. It will never go away but it will change, in time. Please accept our deepest condolences.
Dear Sandie and family,
I was deeply saddened to learn of Terry’s passing and send my heartfelt condolences.
We had the pleasure of working together for many years. Terry was someone who cared deeply about people: his family, his staff, customers and team members around the world. I was proud to consider Terry a friend. Over the years, we made a special effort to keep in touch despite the distance and retirement. I could always count on Terry for dinner when I came out West where we would enjoy talking and laughing over shared memories. These dinners and our annual calls were always something to look forward to.
I will miss Terry. May he rest in peace.
Sorry to receive this sad news. Dawn and I knew and worked with Terry back in the Cooperators/CDSL days and later I worked with him at CGI. We had a number of good times together - he was not a half bad pool player! Our condolences to the family and so sorry for your loss.
Dear Sandie and Family,
James and I were shocked to hear the news from Pam that Terry so full of life and laughter was taken from us. He became a good friend in high school where his high energy, big smile and happy disposition lit up any room he walked into. His memory will live on through all the friendships he made and those are countless. We send hugs and our love, Sandie.
We regret we will not be able to attend in person but will attend the live stream service.
We share the shock and sadness of so many at the loss of Terry. We are so grateful to have known him as our friend for the past 50 years. Although we didn’t see Terry and Sandie as often in Calgary, when we did, it was easy to pick up where we'd left off.
Our most vivid memories of times with Sandie and Terry are those involving games; wild ping pong at which Terry was awesome and boisterous card games that had us constantly laughing. He loved games and was enthusiastic, competitive and consistently good natured. Whether travelling together, playing tennis, golf or cards, visiting or dining out, Terry was always the same and always up for fun. We trust that their five little grandchildren carry that sense of fun that was Terry.
Our love and heartfelt sympathy to Sandie and Kimberly and Garett and their families.

My condolences Sandie to you and all of the family. Terry was more than a cousin to me but also a friend. I remember the days at Grandpa Hanson's farm where we played all kind of wild and crazy games celebrating Boxing Day. Later at their cottage on Round Lake riding in the their speed boat.
Moncton had a Cooperators office and when Terry came for business we always got together. One of those times was for my wedding which leads to a story about Terry. At the wedding rehearsal Yvette's Dad had a huge lobster boil and the backyard had 5 gallons pails of boiled lobster. Terry was not used to a lobster in the shell however in his way managed to get my sister-in-laws to crack the lobster for him.
Sorry I can't be there for the celebration of life but will raise a fine beverage in your memory.
The news was shocking in the least.
I have known Terry since the 80s at my first day at the Cooperators. At that time Terry was well on his way helping guide The Cooperators and then CDSL through an amazing time in the evolution of technology and the applications of technology in the business world.
I learned a lot from Terry and stayed with him through to retirement.
Terry and Sandy purchased property in Phoenix at the time I did. We golfed all winter and made time to get together at each others homes to play card games and just socialize. It was great missing the -40 temps back home.
I don't think a week went by that Terry and I did not share jokes over the web. Just another part of Terry that I will miss.
May Terry Rest in Peace.
Tim
Dear Sandie, Kimberly, Garett and Families: We were both shocked and saddened to hear of Terry's recent passing.
We have so many wonderful memories of him that put a smile on our faces. We especially remember the friendly competition of the Sequence games. Many of our other memories revolve around Garett and Nathan's sporting events.
Unfortunately we will be unable to attend the memorial on Friday, but you will all be in our thoughts.
Sincerely,
Barbara Newman and Chris Hylton
After recovering from the shock, in learning of Terry’s passing, I reflected on the many years I’ve known Terry.
I met Terry at the cooperators and he joined CDSL in its formative years. He always brought humor and cheerfulness to all situations be they somber of not!
One humorous event, which I told at his retirement, was waiting to meet him in the Toronto airport to return home on #153. He never showed, and as I was concerned called Sandy when I got home! Apparently, he got on the wrong plane and ended up in Winnipeg. He may have lost his smile that night!
In later years, there were a number of holidays that will never be forgotten specifically in Cabo san Lucas and Phoenix. We partied a lot harder in those days!
Terry deservedly, totally enjoyed his retirement. While life has caused us to travel in different circles these past few years, I was fortunate to have lunch with Terry and Del, another retired cooperator, just last week to resolve all the world’s problems. As always, Terry had a solution!
While I cannot make the service on Friday I will be watching the service with Dave, another former CDSLer at his home.
Sandy, I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m going to miss him too! Speaking from experience, this is something you never get over, you just learn to live with it!
My condolences to Sandy and the family.
