Obituary of Barry Joseph Schmidt

July 6, 1947 – Lampman, Saskatchewan

July 20, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

Peacefully and surrounded by family, Barry Schmidt of Calgary, AB, passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at the age of 76 years after battling heart disease.

Barry was born in Lampman, SK but spent most of his life in Calgary, AB.  Barry had an over 30-year loyal career with IKO Industries.  Along with spending quality time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, Barry was a minor hockey coach and avid sports fan. Barry loved to work out and golf with family and friends. He was also particularly fond of spending time relaxing in the backyard with his wife.   

Barry is survived by his wife Sharon and family; two sons, Dwayne (Val) and Scott; and grandchildren, Tyler, Sarah, and Skyelar. Barry will also be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Donna and JoAnn and their families, as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
