Miles Malbasa passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023, at the age of 67. Miles is survived by his wife Visnja, daughter Christina, and son Nicholas.

Miles had a strong passion for the cowboy lifestyle which made Calgary a great home for him. He loved old western movies and had his full cowboy attire ready for every Stampede season.

He was well loved by his close family, friends, and colleagues. You could always count on him being there to crack a joke, share advice, and lend a helping hand. In his free time, you could always find him spending time outdoors.

He enjoyed fishing, hiking, camping, gardening and anything else that he could find to do outdoors. He took his family on regular camping trips out to BC and Western Alberta, and day trips to Kananaskis and surrounding national parks. Within the city, he found his happy place in Fish Creek Park, taking walks along the river.

To remember Miles, whenever you visit the mountains in Alberta, please have him in your thoughts, say hello, and share a fond memory with him. He will be resting there peacefully enjoying the fresh air and beautiful scenery.

Miles will forever be in our hearts.
