Obituary of Jennifer Michelle Allen
December 11, 1986 – Calgary, Alberta
July 28, 2023 – Calgary, Alberta
Jennifer Allen (nee Mcrae), of Calgary, AB, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 28, 2023, at the age of 36 years.
Jennifer was born in Calgary, AB, on December 11, 1986, and spent many of her developing years in Penticton, B.C.
Jennifer married the love of her life Phil Allen on May 12, 2012, and together they created their beautiful family with the births of their two children Abigail Maria Allen in December 2012 and Daniel John Louis Allen in April 2014.
She was the Founder and CEO of JA Surrogacy, a company that was built out of the love she experienced in becoming a mother and a surrogate herself. Her company was the expression of her core values, helping others to experience the love and dreams she felt blessed to have experienced herself. To this day her work and her village have supported hundreds of families around the world in becoming complete. Before JA Surrogacy, Jennifer had proudly worked at AARC and the Boys and Girls Club of Airdrie where she was able to support and empower young women and men to better lives.
Jennifer lived with intensity and accomplished much throughout her life and was particularly proud of the home she created and filled with her many animals, especially her beloved Griz. She would never shy away from loving an animal and attempting to pet it. Jennifer even tried to pet alligators in Florida and tigers in Thailand to the delight and horror of her husband and kids on their family vacations.
Jennifer believed strongly in showing her children the world and teaching them through experiences in life. She was always excited about and planning the next adventure she was going to take them on or hopping on the quads to explore the countryside around their acreage. She cherished those moments that Phil and she were able to provide for their family.
She will be most remembered for her passion, presence, and authenticity. Jennifer was true to her beliefs, lived them fully and was not shy to share them with others. She put all of herself into anything she did and dared anyone to stop her. She was the most fervent supporter of her loved ones and was always trying to help those who were experiencing hardships.
Besides her loving husband Phil, Jennifer is survived by her daughter Abigail and son Daniel all of Okotoks, Alberta.
Jennifer is also survived by her mother Pat Chernenkoff of Penticton, B.C. Her brother Rob Mcrae and sister-in-law Natalie Connel of Penticton, B.C. Her sister-in-law Ashley Allen and her partner James of Lethbridge, AB; as well as nephews Chase, Luke, and Jeremy and niece Aviana Marcellus-Allen.
