Cheryl Yamada, wife of Alan Yamada |"of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at the age of 64 years.

Cheryl was born in Baden-Soellingen, Germany on December 18, 1958. Cheryl lived in several different cities and provinces when her father was in the Air Force. Cheryl then met and married Alan in 1980.

She was a member of the Rhythm of the Rockies, Sweet Adeline Ladies Chorus, for several years. Cheryl had a passion for singing and competing. Cheryl’s most favourite thing to do was spend time with her grandchildren.

Besides her loving husband, Cheryl is survived by her daughter Brianne (Wayne) Elliott, sons, Ryan (Rae) Yamada, and Kyle Yamada; eight grandchildren, Cayden, Micah, Abigail, Sawyer, Ivree, Amaya, Riley, and Sakaia.

Cheryl is also survived by parents, Moe and Gail Hunt; brother Morry (Cathy) Hunt, sister Kim (Justin) Calvert, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Cheryl’s life will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
