Obituary of Theresa Georgina Todd

Theresa Todd (nee Stang) of Calgary, AB passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023, at the age of 82 years. She was born in Wainwright, AB on February 6, 1941 and moved to Calgary in 1943.

Theresa accomplished much through her life. Earlier in life, she was a member of the Canadian Women’s Army Corps at Currie Barracks in Calgary and was particularly proud of winning the turkey shoot competition and was considered a very good rifleman. 

Theresa loved to camp with her children and always had a passion for being outside. Her most memorable vacation was seeing Elvis in Las Vegas with her sister Michelle. She even had a dance with legendary boxer Joe Frazier.

Theresa’s favourite poem was Trees by Joyce Kilmer. She will be most remembered for her fierce protection of her five children, her kindness, generosity and love for all her children, grandchildren and extended family. She was an inspiration to moms raising children on their own and demonstrated strength and perseverance.

Theresa is survived by her five children, Danny Todd (Deb Beaudin), Doug Todd, Kim Porter, Cory Todd (Nicole Smith) and Troy Todd (Kimberly Kettner). She had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly. Theresa is also survived by her brother Lewis Stang; and two sisters, Linda Dimma (nee Stang) of Airdrie and Michelle Richardson (nee Stang) of Calgary. Theresa was predeceased by her father Michael Herman Stang, her mother Morna Gertrude Stang (nee Heffernan), her sister Lilian Teare (nee Stang) and brother Errol Stang.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street N, Calgary, AB T2E 2V6), on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
