Condolences
We will miss seeing "Uncle" John around the house and his always jovial, friendly greetings. One of my earliest memories from almost 20 years ago was a warm summer morning and John was playing jazz music out front and reading the paper - what a nice vision. I'm glad we were able to have a visit with him a few weeks ago. My Mom and Dad enjoyed having a cold beer with him on the driveway and reminiscing about people and places in common. They felt deeply honoured to have had that time, as do I, especially after hearing of his passing. John and Claire have been wonderful neighbours and it has been touching to see the love they have had for each other over the years. Truly inspirational. We will miss you John.

Clare and family, I am just so sad. I'll miss 'Uncle John' as Lola and I call him. I used to watch out my window when he was being picked up and dropped off to make sure he was being looked after by the drivers and he got in the house alright.
I met Clare before I bought my house and she made me feel so welcome to the street. The first time I met John, he introduced himself and said 'give me a big hug.' He was such a lovely man with a beautiful smile and laugh. I'll miss visiting with him. I'm just across the street if any of you need anything. Lot of love from Dilys
