Obituary of Jared Lee Olds
February 8, 1990 - August 3, 2023
Jared Lee Olds passed away suddenly in Calgary, AB on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at the age of 33 years.
Jared leaves behind his loving parents, Fanny Olds and Len Shorson; his brothers, Jesse Olds (Tasha), Matthew Olds, Jody Onespot, and Darnell Olds; sisters, Margaret Osi A.K.A Cara Lee (Olds), Kayla Onespot, Jerrica, Jaadaas, and Tiffany Shorson; and godson Aaron Bearspaw.
Jared has been reunited with the love of his life Twyla Mistakenchief, who passed away in 2020. Jared was born and raised in Calgary. He attended City Schools, and the Tsuut’Tina Jr. High School. He worked for the city and for Siksika Public Works. Throughout his life he found a passion for skateboarding, creative arts, music, and meeting many people throughout his journeys. Jared was a very humble, nurturing, gentle giant. He loved his little cousins like his own siblings. Jared loved to laugh and joke. He could light up a room with his contagious laugh and his dimply smile. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jared leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Reela, Alexander, Corissa, McKenna, Dominique, Liam M. Power, Nicolas, and Samuel; adopted grandmother Joni Pascoe, special aunties, Sandra Onespot, Cheryl Big Plume (Joe), Myra Olds, Rosa Medicine Traveller, Pearline Dempsey, Pamella Parenteau, Nena Redgun, Lori Big Plume, and Mary; his uncles, Curtis Olds (Denise), Woodrow Olds, Dino Olds, and Lambert Medicine Traveller; special cousins, Travis Cyril, Waylon, Dedria (Grant), Allison, Nathaniel, Cbeyanne, Cecilia Caroline, Wes, Elena P, Laura, and their families; his great-grandmothers, Daisy Smith (Ferris) and Rose Redgun; and special brother Jay (Kate) Dicristofaro.
Jared was predeceased by his loving grandparents, Raymond and Caroline; auntie Wanda, uncle Jerome and Ross, special cousins, BJ and Sounder; niece Jasmine, and other numerous relatives. The family would like to apologize for anyone that was missed.
Wake Services will be held at the residence Rose Red Gun, House 64 Map 4 (Siksika Nation, AB) on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 6:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at the residence of Residence of Rose Red Gun, House 64 Map 4 (Siksika Nation, AB) on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Cannon Stockton Cemetery (Siksika Nation, AB).
