Obituary of Alice Annette Greer

September 10, 1931 – Belfast, Northern Ireland

August 13, 2023 - Cochrane, Alberta

Alice Greer (nee McMordie) died peacefully in her 92nd year surrounded by her loving family in Cochrane, Alberta. Alice married Ernie Greer (deceased) in 1954 and was an adoring mother to four children, Stephen, Barbara, Alyson (deceased) and Gillian, all raised in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Alice immigrated to Canada in 2001 and settled in Calgary and later moved to Cochrane in 2017.

Family was always the centre of Alice’s life, she adored her children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. She cared for her siblings, she was a second mother to her in-law children, and to her nieces and nephews. Such a wonderful person with a quiet positive nature you wouldn’t know that her early life was dominated by the Second World War and her middle years made difficult by the civil strife surrounding her in Belfast. She loved and protected her children through those difficult years.

Alice’s recent years were spent in the company of her family, near and far. Her quiet strength continuing to nurture both her family and her friends.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Cochrane, 369 Railway Street, Cochrane, AB), on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
