Rudolph Prediger

Obituary of Rudolph Prediger

October 15, 1935 – Macklin, Saskatchewan

August 14, 2023 – Calgary, Alberta

Rudy will be remembered by those who loved him for his generosity, wit, kindness, dedication to lending a hand up to those in need, and never backing away from a fight for what he believed in.

He was born to Mary (Stang) and Alexander J. Prediger in Macklin, Saskatchewan but grew up on their farm in Wetaskiwin, Alberta. Through his many adventures in life, he was a carpenter working to construct grain elevators and a bartender; when it was fashionable to shine your shoes and wear a white shirt and tie. For many years Rudy was a long-haul truck driver with routes all over North America.

Rudy was predeceased by his infant son Martin, two daughters, Karen and Jody; sisters Rita Kully, Judy Kraft and Mary Melenyk and brothers Bill and Soloman.

Rudy leaves behind his granddaughter Nikki Joveski; great-grandson Isaac; brother and sister-in-law, Alex P. Prediger and Teresa Engel; and sister, Loretta Harris along with many nieces and nephews.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to your favourite charity in the spirit of lending a hand to those most in need.

In living memory of Rudy Prediger, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes, Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB T2E 2V6, Telephone: 403-243-8200.
