Obituary of Lavina Brown

January 25, 1938 – Morley, Alberta

August 14, 2023 – Calgary, Alberta

Lavina Brown was called home by our Creator on August 14, 2023 at the age of 85 years.

Lavina is survived by her daughter Colleen Brown and her adopted daughter Diane Dixon; her sisters Gwyneth Crawler and Barbara Hunter; her brother Jeff (Evelyn) Hunter; her adopted sisters Donna Kaquitts and Alice Kaquitts Jr; her adopted brother Watson Kaquitts; her sister-in-law Helen Twoyoungmen; her twenty-two grandchildren;  five special grandchildren Bryan House Jr., T-Jay Wesley, Joe Brown Twoyoungmen, Malikye Wesley and Desaun Brown, who was raised by Lavina as a baby; twenty-nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Lavina is also survived by her special nieces Vivian Hunter and Diane Rider; her special nephew Michael Hunter; and her best friend Tina Fox.

Lavina was predeceased by her husband Joe Brown; her children Lorena Twoyoungmen, Ernest Hunter, and Larry Brown; her sisters Stella Powderface, Rita Rider, May Bigcrow, Loraine Rider and Margaret Hunter; her stepbrothers Dillon Rider, Albert Soldier and Eddie Hunter; and her grandchildren Joey Twoyoungmen, Donene Brown, and Charmaine Wesley. 

Wake Services will be held at the residence of Lavina Brown (Morley, AB) on Monday, August 21, 2023. Funeral Services will be held at the residence of Lavina Brown (Morley, AB) on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 12:00 p.m.  Graveside Service to follow at Brown Family Cemetery (Morley, AB).  Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
