Patrick Elliott

Obituary of Patrick James Elliott

January 4, 1957 – Edmonton, Alberta

August 18, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

It’s not possible to capture all that this man was to his family and friends, but here we are. On Aug 18, 2023, the world broke a little bit with the passing of Patrick James Elliott, after a short illness, at the age of 66. Patrick leaves behind his bride of 43 years, Shelley Elliott, his two sons Jeffrey and Sean (Jorja), his pups Lucy and Odin, grandpup Missy, his nephew Bill Elliott Jr (April), numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and his dear, dear friends. Patrick was predeceased by his parents James & Elizabeth Elliott and siblings Thomas, Bill, Allan, and Marion.

Home is where his heart was…always. He was so proud of his beautiful boys, Jeff and Sean and told them at every opportunity how much he loved them. Patrick was the most generous, positive, encouraging dad throughout their childhood and beyond passionate following every minute of their helicopter careers. He loved spending time with his dogs, taking care of the gardening, growing his own food, biking in Fish Creek Park, going on road trips in his Mercedes convertible, taking summer vacations to B.C. when the boys were younger, the amazing trip he took to Greece with Shelley in 2018 and joining his best buds for their weekly “old guy” lunch while discussing world events and having a lot of laughs.

Patrick had a keen interest and knowledge in the subjects of world politics, world news, history, and space exploration.  He ran his own successful businesses and was awarded for numerous achievements in his sales careers. He was born and raised in Edmonton, AB and after working for a time in Vancouver moved to Calgary in 1979 where he pursued a lifetime of successful careers in car dealership sales and management, residential and commercial real estate, ownership of numerous small businesses and lastly, before retiring, his security & private investigation firm.

He will be most remembered for his incredible sense of humour, undying love for his family, his generosity, being a great friend, a good listener and for always making himself available to friends and family to share his wisdom, advice, and positive outlook on life.

Words can’t do justice. He was our everything and the world won’t be the same without him. We love you Patty ☘️

After that who cares?... He's a mile away and you've got his shoes!”
