Obituary of Nadine Pearl Kenney

August 11, 1929 – Odessa, ON

August 20, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

Nadine Kenney of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at the age of 94 years.

Nadine was born in Odessa, ON, on August 11, 1929. She was the fourth child of Charles and Fern Wallace (nee Brown). She came west to Calgary in 1949, married Ed in 1950, and raised her family there. They retired to Victoria in the early eighties. Ed and Nadine returned to Calgary in 1999. She thoroughly enjoyed golf, watching sports (her Calgary Flames and Calgary Stampeders), needlework and gardening. She was very proud of her hole-in-one in May 2002.

Nadine is forever loved by her five children, Susan (Bill) Marriott, Ross, Michael, and Roger all of Calgary, and Beverley of Victoria. Grandma will also be greatly missed by her seven grandchildren, Devin (Christina) Raskin of Vancouver, Kellie Rondeau (Rob Menard) of Sooke, David Rondeau of Victoria, Christopher Marriott of Tacoma, WA, Heather Marriott, Daniel Kenney, and Stephanie (Mike) Corin, all of Calgary. Her great-grandchildren, Liam Graham of Victoria, Kaycee and Jaya Baardseth, Malcolm, and Lincoln Corin of Calgary, also gave her special pleasure. She will also be remembered by her brother Clayton Wallace of Kingston, ON, and sister Shirley (David) Cota of Delburne, AB, as well as her sisters-in-law, Ellen Todd of Vancouver, and Carolyn McLennan of Calgary.

She was predeceased by her husband, Edward in March 2008; her siblings Elsie Hagerman, Edgerton Wallace and Ada Snider. She is also survived by many friends and extended family.

Nadine enjoyed living at the Manor Village Varsity for almost six years and was thankful for the very caring staff and friends she met. We also appreciate the compassionate care she received at Foothills Medical Center and Dulcina Hospice. If friends so desire memorial tributes, donations may be made in her memory to the CNIB National Office, 1929 Bayview Avenue, Toronto, ON, M4G 3E8.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB), on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mrs. Kenney’s service streamed live on the day of the service at www.MHFH.com. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted. Condolences, memories, and photos may also be shared and viewed there.
