Dear family of Autilia

While we did not know Autulia, she sounds like a wonderful person and incredibly strong to have left Italy at a young age for the wilds of Canada and to build such a tremendous life in Calgary.

To Nunziata family sincere condolences for the passing of comara Autilia from compari Iole & Carmine Fruncillo and family

Autilia was such a wonderful part of our world, as our next door neighbour in Silver Springs. Only a few days ago we were sitting on our front lawn, enjoying the summer evening with her. Some of our favourite memories of her involve gardening. She advised us on which were flowers and which were weeds, gave her considered opinion on our gardening efforts and would often take the trowel and replant. In our family, her wonderful lasagna and eggplant parmesan were legendary. Once in a while there would be an unannounced knock on the door, and there she would be, tasty dish in hand, with instructions on how to warm it. For over fifty years, she lived in her house in Silver Springs. She raised her family there, watched the grandkids grow, honoured her husband’s memory and enjoyed chatting with the neighbours. She lived independently in her own house, on her terms, right to the end. We will miss her dearly.
